It's now been over eight years since I got into the real estate business, and during that time I've gotten a wealth of general brokerage experience with several leading realty companies. My sizable investment of time and energy has paid great dividends for both my clients and myself.
In addition, having worked as an onsite agent for one of Charlotte's biggest builders has been of tremendous benefit as well. My hands-on experience in new construction has given me valuable insight into the advantages and disadvantages of buying a new home. My custom home clients receive the added benefit from the new construction knowledge I've gained by earning my North Carolina Contractor's License back in the early '90s. Real life personal experience in designing, building and contracting custom homes is something that only a tiny number of RealtorsĀ® can lay claim to.
As a little more personal background, I was born and raised in Pittsburgh and went to college in New England, where I received a B.A. in Political Science from Tufts University in Boston. After college I spent a couple of fantastic years working menial jobs to fund my photographic travels throughout Europe, the Caribean and the United States. Talk about fun!
Alas, reality set in when I finally found the most awesome young lady I had ever met, and I realized I had better not risk losing her. Together for many years now, we have been blessed with good health, happiness and five wonderful children. We were fortunate to make Charlotte our home back in 1983. Today much of our time is spent serving in various ministries in our church, as well as our favorite pastimes of antiques, gardening, travel and enjoying the outdoors.
Before I got into the real estate field I spent 20 years in advertsing and marketing. I held various management positions on both the agency and client side, and was fortunate to work with such market leaders as McDonalds, Coca-Cola, Anheuser Busch, Chrysler, Marriott, Hewlett Packard and others. Those years have proven to be very valuable in marketing and selling my clients' homes.
My personal goal is very simple - to make your best interest my only interest. I have found that approach to be very effective at executing advantageous real estate transactions for my clients. The net result has been lots of happy smiles on my client's faces, as well as mine. And isn't that what it's all about?
Last but not least, I have the distinct pleasure of working with the biggest and, in my mind, best single real estate office in all of Charlotte. But don't get me wrong, being the biggest isn't what makes us the best. Rather, I think we have become the biggest because we are the best. It all starts with our President, Scott Wilkinson, and works its way down through every member of the team, all of whom are genuinely committed to making your property purchase and/or sale everything you want it to be.
Speaking of being the best, I would never be foolish enough or arrogant enough to say that I am the best RealtorĀ® in Charlotte. What I will say, however, is that I do a pretty darn good job for all my clients.
